Getting Involved at St. Aldhelm's

Like all Churches we encourage people to consider how much they can give financially as part of their giving to God.

For example, if you give money in specially marked envelopes which we supply, we can recover additional money from the Inland Revenue, increasing the value of your giving.

We gain several thousands of pounds from the Inland Revenue each year through this scheme.

We are an active Church family who need all sorts of gifts and skills. Often people are afraid of getting involved for a variety of reasons:

· You may feel that being a new face you would be a gatecrasher

· You may fear treading on someone else’s territory

· You may fear that what you have to offer is not good enough.

The Vicar will want to help you find your feet with us without feeling the pressure that we are pushing you to get involved. There will be a right time, but it would be good to begin talking with the Vicar soon. So that he can be aware of your desire.

Getting to know you

The Church family at St. Aldhelm’s want to get to know you and we hope that you will want to get to know us.
Each month, our parish magazine tells you about forthcoming events such as socials, garden party, concerts, meals outings and small groups. We encourage you to come to them.
There is a monthly social called the “Family Group” which arranges outings or socials on a Tuesday evening.

After Church on Sunday mornings many people go to our Church halls for refreshments. This is another opportunity to get to know us.

Once you have settled in with us we will invite you to a “Welcome Meal” where you can learn more about St. Aldhelm’s.
